Lost my office job the other day Unemployment helped me pay the way So I could sit on a stool eight hours a day Sit on a stool and drink my trouble away. Workin' in an office just ain't my bag Don't like the bullshit smiles or the clothes they wear I'm a natural man with a natural plan So put another beer right in my hand Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm working overtime Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm working all the time. Don't want a big bossman staring over my back Or a big ol' secretary with a triple D rack All I want is my bar and my drinking friends Oh you know, the trouble never ends. Oh yeah. Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm working overtime. Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm working overtime. Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm working overtime. Drinkin' is a full time job and I'm all the time.

Fantasy 03:24
It's just another day When your soul got sucked away Now it's time for the show Time to get up and go-go-go Step-touch in time To a different kind of grind Don't matter who you are Put your worries in a jar And throw it far! It's just a fantasy, it's just a fantasy. Kaleidoscope of light Hip sway with all your might Let your body feel the flow Start to twist it down and low You can make the scene And be your own kind of jellybean. Don't matter who you've been Cause babe this ain't no sin, this ain't no sin, yeah! It's just a fantasy, it's just a fantasy. Turn off the news and turn on your light Don't be down on yourself, just get down with the night You can be safe, or you can be free. Shut up and dance, come on and dance with me. It's just a fantasy, it's just a fantasy.

Now that my woman's gone I don't know what to do She took my money and my favorite shoes Sold my house, sold my house, got myself a new guitar Some mirrored shades and then I hit the road. This hometown life was bringing me down My woman done treat me like a clown I'm a truckin' man, the road's the life for me. Now that my woman's gone I don't know what to do She took my money and my favorite shoes Ran off with the butcher and she screwed the baker, too. I won't come home until I get my due. I was driving down highway 69 This eighteen wheeler sure is flying Not slowin' down for no one, no-sireee Gonna find that woman and bring her down Coz nobody treats me like a clown I'm a truckin' man, just you wait and see chorus Well I pulled into a county fair There's my woman standing there The fat man had my shoes right on his feet. So I pulled a water gun and started shooting. Some would say that was high-falutin' I'm a truckin man, don't you mess with me Now that my woman's gone I don't know what to do. She took my money and my favorite shoes. Ran off with the butcher and she screwed the baker, too. I won't come home until I get my due.

Mr. Jones 03:06
There's Mr. Jones, yeah, he lives down the hall Doesn't like the rock n roll music, doesn't like it all He's always knocking on my front door Before too long I can't take it not more Yeah, it's true What you gonna do? Well, you're not gonna, not gonna, not gonna bring me down. No, no, no, no, no. There's Mr. Jones, he's a real gone cat. He keeps talking about eviction, yeah he's talking about this and that He's always telling us to turn it own Before too long I'm gonna get that clown Yeah it's true, what you gonna do? Well, you're not gonna, not gonna, not gonna bring me down. No, no, no, no, no.

Faster 04:04
Roaming around this empty place The scent of you still lingers Then this yawning ache awakes To follow me til dawn. Riding through the barrio I see you in every mural Reds and yellows all turn to gray Without the fire in your eyes Faster, my love Come home to me Faster, my love Moments til I see your face I'm homing in on your signal Reds and yellows all turn to flame Now that you're back where you belong. Faster, my love Come home to me Faster, my love

Free My Mind 06:05
Can't you see what you're doing to me? I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to worry. I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to think. Every single day, every word you say I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to worry. I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to think. It's what you do, not what you say It's getting better every day All I need is a little conversation Here's a little tip Don't board a sinking ship I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to worry. I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to think. I'm gonna free my mind so I don't have to worry. I'm gonna free my mind so gimme another drink.

about

On Electric Caribou, The Modeens' twist on 60's garage-psych-rock has spread to other genres in need of a shakeup, including country, soul, and punk. They're plucking you out of the blaring stream of 24/7 news channels and dropping you back on your favorite bar stool in that dive around the corner, where everyone from the lonely trucker sipping his whiskey to the tipsy redhead dancing at the jukebox has their own story to tell. Drink and listen responsibly.
